There are 260,000 alumni of the University of Tennessee located throughout the world. 2,000 alumni live abroad and UT graduates are in every state. All alumni are automatically members of the UT National Alumni Association (UTNAA). There are active alumni chapters in 90 counties in Tennessee and 35 major cities throughout the United States.

Importance of Gift Giving - As a state-assisted (not state supported) institution, The University of Tennessee receives approximately 36% of its budget from state appropriations. As support from state and federal sources has leveled, private support is playing an increasingly important role in maintaining and enhancing the strength of the university. Support from alumni and friends provide the "extras" not available through other sources of funding. These "extras" translate into student scholarships, faculty awards, new equipment for classrooms, support for libraries, and countless other enhancements. In many cases, your contributions provide educational opportunities that otherwise would be unavailable.
